For people who love to hike the Steineralm is open on certain days in the winter. The road has been well maintained, so that walking there with normal mountain shoes absolutely is no problem.

When you want leave the speed behind, snowshoeing is a nice alternative. Since it is not possible to rent the material, there is a weekly excursion being organized by the VVV-office of Neukirchen.

With, probably, the most longest and in the evening with lights equipped Rodelbahn of the world, Neukirchen can charm everyone. From the end point of the lift and after a quarter of hour walk in the direction of the Pferfferköpfel lift you can start to 'rodel' to the Wildkogelhaus.

For those who want to enjoy beautiful and peaceful winter landscape, Neukirchen offers 55km. of cross-country ski slopes with various difficulty degrees. You can find these slopes on the shady side of the valley (near by the Salzach river) from the Obersulzbachtal to the Mühlbachtal.
